About Me

I’m Andy Prior, a personal trainer and England Athletics run coach who helps runners over 30 get stronger, fitter, and faster — without burning out or following generic PDF plans.
With nearly two decades of experience in strength training for runners, marathon training, and personal training, I coach the individual. No one-size-fits-all programs here. Whether you’re training for your first half marathon, aiming for a sub-4-hour marathon, or want to finally crack that 5K PB, I’ll help you train smarter, move better, and stay consistent.

Let’s build a plan that works for you, not against you.

My signature program, Stronger Fitter Faster, was built specifically for runners like you. It brings together running, strength training, mindset, and structured progression to help you break through those invisible barriers.

PBs after 30 aren’t a myth — but they don’t happen by chance.

They happen when you train smarter, not just harder.

You might be running four times a week and still not seeing results. Or maybe you’re picking up niggles, feeling tired, or second-guessing if you’re even training the right way anymore.
The truth is, after 30, your body needs more support and more structure — not just more miles. What worked in your 20s won’t cut it anymore. That’s why I take a holistic approach that balances running, strength, and recovery.

Run and know yourself

My coaching focuses on:

Whether you’re focused on half marathon training, marathon training, or getting back to regular running after a break, I’ll meet you where you are.

“Think strength training is optional?”

If you're over 30 and want to keep running strong, it's not — it's essential.

Strength training isn’t just for gym lovers or injured runners
It’s a non-negotiable part of improving performance and staying injury-free, especially for those running over 40. My program includes tailored sessions designed specifically for runners, helping you build strength where it matters: hips, glutes, hamstrings, core, and upper body.
Because here’s the thing — we don’t just run with our legs. A strong runner is a resilient runner. With integrated coaching that includes mobility, movement prep, and recovery guidance, you’ll feel stronger on your long runs, faster during your intervals, and more balanced in your daily life. If you want to perform well, strength training for runners isn’t extra — it’s foundational.

Real people. Real progress.

I work with everyday runners who are juggling careers, families, and life. You don’t need to be an elite athlete to train like one. All you need is the right coach, the right plan, and the commitment to follow through.
My clients consistently tell me they feel more confident, more in control of their training, and more optimistic about their running futures than ever before. The Stronger Fitter Faster framework is built on four key coaching principles:

What People Say About Me

Been meaning to write a review for ages. I asked for a voucher for Xmas and it's honestly one of the best things I've ever done! Andy is friendly but really pushes you to where you need to be. I find him much less intimidating than other pt's I see at other gyms. I have lost weight before but I'm stronger and fitter than I've ever been. He's helped me with running and strength work. I've now lost over a stone and half. But the best thing is I feel good and I'm really enjoying it! Give it a go, you won't regret it

Cannot recommend personal training with Andy highly enough - after yo yo-ing for the best part of 4 years, I started a 10 week programme with him, his sessions are fun and informative but above all he is a real person who first hand knows the struggles of being a bigger person. I've lost 14.5 inches in my first 10 weeks with him and have just started another 10 week programme...thanks for your support, I feel fitter and better than ever before!

Andy has been helping me with a great training planned for Dublin marathon and has really paid off with a 10 minute PB from last year! Andy is really friendly and great to work with and really gets you motivated! I Have also been using his Classes, fit camp and spin class which I have found really helpful in great fitness and core strength! I would highly recommend and definitely will be using again thanks Andy keep up the great work 👍

Robert Wright

Andy created a training plan for me for the London marathon which was my first ever marathon. He incorporated runs with my dog, and adapted the plan each week to fit my life, while still pushing me - that’s what coaches are for after all! I stayed injury free throughout the training which was goal number one. I wanted a sub 4:30 marathon and as we got closer to it we were hoping for closer to 4 hours. I did sub 4:20 in the end which I was ecstatic with especially considering it was my first marathon and the weather on the day was 24 degrees. Andy was brill.

Had a sports massage with Andy. Great massage and made my legs feel much lighter afterwards. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you for my first session, glad it is over but looking forward for more!

If you're looking for an encouraging PT who makes everything fun and supports you in lifestyle changes and not just exercising, Andy is the man!! Andy helped me train for Tough Mudder, something I thought was impossible. With his help I found the course challenging but doable, even considering doing it again next year!
